Types of Computer Components – Keyboards
Since the beginning of the new millennium the sale of computers has increased significantly since people have realized that computers are intelligent devices that process data quickly. These devices help a person reduce the time taken to complete work and computer components further assist a person to complete a task. Computer components like the keyboards help a person input data with ease and this article is going to elaborate on an important computer component that is required while using computers.
The keyboards available in online shops and retail stores are of two types. The first type of keyboard is a wireless keyboard and the main advantage of this device is that wires are not needed to use it. Wireless keyboards can be used while the computer is at a distance and while some keyboards have a range of 10 feet other keyboards have a range of 20 or 30 feet. The second type of keyboard is the traditional keyboard that has wires and such devices need to be connected to the computer tower through wires. Wired keyboards can be used on many types of computers but some wired keyboards cannot be used on Apple or Macintosh computers.
Notebooks have in built keyboards that are known as touch pads. Most people find touch pads hard to use since these touch pads are small hence many people prefer buying additional computer components like a USB based keyboard. USB based keyboards that are made for notebooks are smaller than the keyboards used for desktops and these USB based keyboards have to be connected to the notebook’s USB port. The cost of a USB keyboard depends on the manufacturer and technology used to create the keyboard but the price of these computer components ranges from $50 to $150. Certain USB keyboards can also be attached to desktop computers made by companies like Dell, HP and Acer.
